Sharing photos and videos by using Windows Live Photo Gallery

Being able to easily share photos and videos is part of what makes Windows Live Photo Gallery convenient and fun to use. Here are a few ways to share these files.

The best way to share photos and videos is to publish them on your Windows Live space (for photos) or MSN Soapbox (for videos). (You can also use Windows Live Photo Gallery to publish your photos on Flickr.) You can let your friends and family know that you've published new files by sending a link in an e-mail message. Your friends can view them on their own time and leave comments.

Windows Live Photo Gallery takes a lot of the hassle out of sharing your photos and videos online. It's so simple that it will likely take you longer to select the files you want to share than it will to actually publish them.

Publishing photos on Windows Live Spaces

You can share your photos by publishing them on your Windows Live space.

To publish photos on your space

In Windows Live Photo Gallery, select the photos you want to publish, click Publish, and then click Publish on Windows Live Spaces.

Type a name for your album. If you want the photos to upload at the highest resolution to produce the best possible prints, select the Optimize photos for printing check box. If you want to add the photos to an album you've already created, click Add to an existing album, and then select the album name. Then click Publish.

After your photos have been uploaded to your space, you can view your album by clicking View album.

That's all there is to it. Now just point your friends to your space and tell them to look at your new photos. If your friends are really savvy (or just a little savvy), syndicate your space so they can be notified when you update it. Never again will they miss any of your captivating pictorials.

Publishing videos on MSN Soapbox

You can share your videos by publishing them on MSN Soapbox.

To publish a video on MSN Soapbox

In Windows Live Photo Gallery, select a video, click Publish, and then click Publish on MSN Soapbox.

Type a title and description, add tags, select the category and permission level, and then click Publish.

Another way to share photos and videos is to attach them to an e-mail message. Keep in mind that there are limitations with some e-mail accounts on the size of files that are accepted. Filling up a friend's Inbox with photos of your European holiday or videos of your wedding may not go over well.

To send a photo or video in e-mail

1.	In Windows Live Photo Gallery, select the file or files you want to send, and then click E-mail.
2.	Select the size you want the photos to be (videos are not resizable), and then click Attach.
