| Are you still using one of these to find your way around? If so, you’re missing some valuable information. Hi, I’m Jean White, an editor on the Windows team at Microsoft. I'm on my way to a meeting at a library branch I've never been to before. And, instead of dealing with a paper map, I used Live Search to plan my trip. Here’s how I did it. Start by opening your browser and typing maps.live.com. I’ll type the city into the text box, and then click Search. I don’t want to be late for my meeting, so I’ll click Traffic. See how the freeways are color-coded to show areas where traffic is heavy? I can also check for construction and incidents on the roads. The freeways look slow, so I’d better stick to side roads today. I’ll type the name of the library into the text box, and then click Search. This is the branch! I’ve never been there before so I’ll need driving directions. With Live Search, I can click 1-click directions to get general directions from the west, east, south, or north, or I can get specific directions from my starting point. I’ll type my starting point and click Get directions. Perfect! Here they are. I can save my starting point for future use. I can print the directions, share them in e–mail, and I can even send them to my mobile device so I can check directions on the way. That’s all there is to it. All the information is right here on my mobile now. There’s a lot to explore in Live Search and a lot of ways to make traveling simpler.
Speaking of traveling, look at the time. I gotta get to that library!
